Psychology

The Team

Our Clinical Psychologists provide support throughout the organisation. We currently have two Senior Psychologists (Joanne Behan and Michelle Keavey) working with the Clare Early Intervention Services (CEIS).

CEIS is a team comprising professionals from the HSE, Enable Ireland and the Brothers of Charity Clare working together in partnership to provide support to families of children between the ages of 0 and 6 who may have developmental delay.

Our psychologists carry out assessment, diagnostic and intervention work within the team including developmental assessments, Assessment of Need, ASD diagnosis, behavioural interventions, family training and so on.

We have one Principal Clinical Psychologist working within the Adult services.
Michael Reen provides supports to individuals, staff teams and families throughout the services and advises on a broad range of issues including behaviour difficulties, bereavement, abuse, person centred planning, capacity assessment, dementia screening, individualisation of services to mention a few.
He is also involved in the training of staff and families on a regular basis in areas like crisis management, autism, clinical holding and mental health.

The Psychology Department also has Trainee Clinical Psychologists on placement at regular intervals from the UL Doctoral Programmes in Clinical psychology.
